Main symptoms of appendicitis: Pain that begins in the central part of the abdomen and moves to the lower right side (lower abdomen). The pain gradually worsens over a day or two, is accompanied by stomach upset, vomiting and fever.
Treatment: there are 2 treatment options:
Laparoscopic Appendectomy: The inflamed appendix, is removed through small incisions made in the skin with the help of special forceps.
Open appendectomy: An incision of approximately 6 cm is made cutting all the layers of the abdominal wall and through which the inflamed appendix is removed.
