Main symptoms of cholecystitis: Pain in the right upper abdomen that may move to the back, middle abdomen or back, fever, nausea and vomiting, as well as jaundice (yellowing of the skin) if gallstones are blocking the bile duct.
Treatment: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy consists of surgically removing the gallbladder through small incisions in the skin of approximately 1 cm, forceps are inserted into the openings, and through them the gallbladder is removed and the openings are closed with sutures or glue, thus leaving barely noticeable scars.
